Great scoop! I have to wonder if it wasn't a GM plant. I know if I was the photographer I would have shopped it around for big bucks before sticking it on the internet. Not that it isn't the real thing!

so what's the consensus on that hood being what we'll see on the Z06? It seems unlikely to me considering the Z06 pic we saw a while ago that was removed from the site. Patrick, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for the pic, Rick!

Optimists think the glass is half full.
Pessimists think the glass is half empty.
Engineers realize it's twice as big as it needs to be.

We have no reason to believe the production Z06 will have anything but the hood we've been seeing all along.

Awesome pics..

Only if the Z06 would have that same hood scoop instead of that little opening that is almost non-existent.

Two things seem pretty obvious now ...
1. GM is tying the Z06 to the C6R via several design ques - which when revealed here got GM's neck hairs up.
2. The two cars to debut that Hill was referring to will certainly be the Z06 and the C6R next to it showing off these design ques.

Seems pretty smart to me. Help assure the racing budget by demonstrating a more direct link between the production car and the race car. For some reason, my personal guess of the Z06 price just went up another $5 - 10k.

On one hand, I feel a little bad if GM doesn't want these pics on the net... but to tell you the truth I don't know why they wouldn't, I mean we are one month from seeing the real thing anyway. Its not like their competition will get any real advantage from this shot. We are all talking about it and hyping it up, why wouldn't they love that???

What a great site! Thank you Rick! I'll bet the "other" Corvette sites come hear every day to pull info. I've checked a few of those sites, and I find every time anything new or pertinent to the Z06 is posted, it originated from DC (Patrick) or CorvetteConti (Rick). It seems Jim (Halltech) has some excellent contributions as well. That and the friendly people are just some of the reasons I enjoy being a supporting member of DC.

Thanks Everybody!
