[Be polite!] Do people actually use turn signals?

I noticed a TON of people that do not use thier turns signals while I'm out driving.....nothing irks me more than anything when someone coming towards me or I'm driving behind doesn't have the courtesy to give me a signal of thier intentions.

I was curious if this is something local to my area or does anyone else have the same problems where they live?

FWIW I always use my signals, even when there is no one else around....habit I guess

Now I'm off my soapbox

It's more than that.

Correct, no one uses turn signals, holds doors open for people, or says "excuse me" or thank you at the store.

The world is now a bunch of pigs with no manners, courtesy or even a hint of class.

It's everywhere.

It's a sad shame. Growing up if one of us kids, didn't say please, thank you, ,etc. my dad and mother would've spanked our butts all the way to the moon and back. Good manners were not an option in our home. We tried to raise our children with the same manners.

I guess that's the point I was making, not only is it something they teach you in driving school, but it's also a form of courtesy that we don't have anymore.

I was actually involved in a car accident about 7 years ago, I was in a 55mph zone, lady was driving 45 in front of me.....I went to go around her (using my signals) and she turned left into me (no signal). My nose was about 3 feet in front of her car so she should have seen me. She pushed me into a ditch and totaled my car out. I was driving a 95 probe and she was in a mid eighties ford LTD.

Ended up being my fault for passing at an unmarked intersection, even though there were dotted lines in place, indicating a "passing zone". It also helped that the state trooper new her as well...if she had used a signal it would have saved everyone a big headache....and my insurance

i use turn signals all the time. i also say please, thank you and hold doors for people. the only time i DONT use a turn signal is if im turning into a driveway at odd hours of the morning and i know people dont appreciate flashing in their windows at those times.

but yeah, so many times ive almost rear-ended people because they slam on their brakes and slow down to a near stop to turn without signaling to me. i got so angry at some dude on saturday night because he was driving fast, braked hard, swerved right ( so i assumed he was either pulling over or going to turn right) but then swerved left and cut me off and i almost hit him. he gave me a look so i gave him the finger and yelled some shit out the window. i rarely do that.

I always use my turn signals. I even honk at people in front of me if they make a turn without signaling.

No one seems to take any pride in their driving.

i wasn't aware of how rude people were really until i got outta basic training.. i went back home and was so accustomed to everyone at a px or anywhere saying please thank you sir or ma'am and holding doors, then when you're at a non military place everyones just a bunch of slobs.

Driving a FedEx expediter around the country, I got to see just how poorly people drive. As a whole, people are just plane rotten drivers! I don't think most drivers even have the foggiest concept on how to properly merge onto a freeway...
