Motor Trend's Latest C8 Rendering

We don't post many of the C8 renderings floating around the internet, but when one of the big 3 car rags publishes a C8 rendering this close to the debut, we WILL show it to you.

They nailed the C7, but they probably got it from Digital Corvettes. We had it here a YEAR before the public debut and 10 months prior to Jalopnik getting credit for releasing the same drawing we had here.

Regardless, here is the Motor Trend rendering:

I'm sure all the big car magazines have already seen, driven and gotten all the specs on the C8 by now. This rendering might be pretty close, but I'm guessing they included some "mistakes" here and there. They wouldn't want to defy the almighty embargo, ha ha.

It's a pretty decent looking sketch except for that side scoop and rear wing. They look so out of place.

I saw this one a while back. That's a look I could get used to in no time at all.

I'd prefer the side scoop and the rear spoiler were the body color, though.

I remember people saying the same about the "mascara" around the tail lights on the C7.

Yeah, I've intensely disliked the shape of rear spoiler from the earliest spy shots and I'd bet that the side scoop and spoiler are body color or at worst, body color is an option.

However, I don't think you are right about the big car rags. I think they do get 'controlled leaks' from GM staff, but I seriously doubt if they have actually seen the C8. I'd bet the house they have NOT driven it.

They used to say there was a two month cycle to print new issues, but I'd bet that for major markets (biggest metro areas) that has been cut in half due to the competition: The internet. If that's true, GM MIGHT give them some pics for magazine circulation only sometime in the next 30 days.....or you are right and they have the first pics right about now. The problem is that if one employee of one magazine leaks GM pics of the C8 on the internet, the 7/18/19 debut is underwhelming. We'll know soon enough.
