I want to see what she has in mind first. That way, if it is something I am fine with, I can agree and acore a few points for wanting what she wants.

Ok how about this.
Woman: What would you like for dinner?
Man: Did you have something planned for dinner already? Maybe something is already thawed out that WE could fix.

This thread cracks me up.

How about this.

Here's what I want for dinner. Period.

Be up front and speak your mind. Leave the psychoanalysis to the blathering idiots that can't deal with simple yes and no.

of course not, but the underlying message in this thread is that much of the "problem" is poor communication. Open discussion and firm decision making are key to any relationship, whether it's personal or business. The mind reading part is best suited for the carneval. My wifey knows she'll get a direct answer and a decision from me all the time, and I know that she'll speak her mind as well. Of course, after I patiently listen to her side, we'll do as I say.

most wives should understand when their husband is tired and hungry at the end of a long crime-fighting day. at least i would

Might be something in what you say there or it could be that
plain language is so unexpected from a woman that we are sure she must mean something else or has an agenda that can't even be imagined by a mortal man.

But if the complaint is that men do not pick up on the meta-messages, and this seems to be universaly known to women, why do they keep sending them? Isn't that as pointless as trying to teach the blind to see? Move on and find a more efficient way to communicate!

NO , that's not it!! Dont even think about it
