aaaah, finally...

so its been a LONG dry spell for me-
i was on maui for 2 months straight and
its been unusually quiet on the streets
since i got back...

i normally get quite a few street races every week
so ive been trolling the streets looking for victims...

well it all came to a head last night around
10:30pm. there i was, rolling up the pali highway
at 45mph or so, and a 4dr subaru something or
other with a fartcan muffler pulled up next to me
and threw a couple revs my way.

i acted disinterested ( playing hard to get ALWAYS
makes em nutty, hah hah...) and he insisted on
tossing more revs my way. so i look over and give
him the "1-2-3-go"? sign.

he honks.

i nod and point at him.

he downshifts, then honks 1,2, and hits the gas and
honks 3 at the same time...

i didnt even downshift, at 45mph its doing 2500rpm+
and thats RIGHT on the converter, and 500rpm into
where the cam comes on anyway. all i did was
"stand on it, son"!

went 45mph to maybe 75mph before he stopped trying
and fell back, by then i was putting a car length every
second or so on him, and when i hit 6-7 lengths
i guess he figured why keep beating a dead horse.

he was super cool about it, pulled up and honked
and gave me a thumbs up while laughing.

aaaah, now that i got that outta my system
i feel SO much better now...

The last street race I had was a Prius, The light turned green and we both left, I got a good 10 meter jump on him but then I noticed my tennis shoe was coming unlaced so I bent down to tie it and by the time I had finished he had almost caught up with me. I barely beat him to the next traffic light. Next time I think I'll run on the sidewalk instead of the street

RACING...Because with baseball, football, basketball, tennis, and golf, you only need one ball

I used to think that I had learned patience as I got older. Then I realized that I just didn't give a shit
