good start to the weekend...

so im rolling back from chinatown in the vette around 630 am this morning--
gotta go get mama that gon lo mein and dim sum she likes
for breakfast on the weekends.

as i hit the red light at the corner of king st. and pensacola blvd,
i have a newish ( last 3-4 years maybe? ) challenger
colored arrest me red pull up next to me.

its got at least aftermarket mufflers, and it must be a stick -
cause the guy driving it is throwing revs at me.

oh boy. this might be fun...

i pop it in "N" and give him a healthy rap on the throttle.
doesnt seem to phase him, hes still revvin it up.
i pop it back into 1st and load it against the brake just a touch,
maybe 1400rpm.

here we go...

the light goes green and he steps off his clutch at what sounds like
3500rpm and just blows his tires away.

classic mistake. amazes me how many guys i beat this way...

i come out on the throttle gently, roll into it, and run it to 6000rpm in 1st, bang 2nd and run it to 4500 then hit 3rd and shut off.

he was in my mirror the whole time, a few lengths back.
never even saw him out of the corner of my eye.

the next light turns yellow so i slow down to stop,
and he goes blazing through it honking his horn.

what a doofus.

you mad, bro?

Smithers, unleash the hounds!
Edelbrock E-Force 1593 & Magnaflow exhaust for that healthy American sound. Before SC 354 RWHP, after SC 484 RWHP. That's all I can do and still pass California smog.

that would be hurricane "kilo"?
its sitting just to the south, kinda stagnated--just sitting there.
making it miserable for us, temps 92-94 daily, with
96 percent humidity...

its like living in a fricken sauna.

We are leaving tomorrow for 10 days in Grand Cayman. We always go during hurricane season (go figure). We spent last week watching hurricane Danny head our way, but it fizzled. Now we have Erika on the move. Looking like it's going to pass to the NE of us, but you never know about these things. Every year when we go we are on full time hurricane watch because something is always moving toward the Caribbean this time of year. Oh, well. You pays your money...you takes your chances. Nice kill of a doofus BTW. He had the tried and true technique of bona fide losers. Get your ass whipped really good, but refuse to slow down once the victor gets off of it. It probably should be renamed Mopar Syndrome.
