An orange Vette for this kid

The local newspaper asked local school children what their favorite car was and why. The most popular car was a Lamborghini, but here's one kid's response...

Dillon McBride Grade 5 North Bay Elementary
(Originally reported as Jordan Roberts but later corrected by newspaper.)

If I could have a car, I would choose the Corvette. They go really fast, about 180 mph. I want not just any Corvette, I want an orange Corvette. Some even have doors that open up and down instead of doors that open regularly. It is my all-time favorite car. An orange Corvette is positively the car for me.

I must admit he has a great taste in Corvettes

But I find it amazing that 5th graders from Missouri would choose a Lambo as the favorite car

It'd be funny if he wanted a Mustang without rims

we would have to find out where the kid is from and send it to him. all we would have to do do is have someone do some research then designate a person to send him one,the toy models usually cost 20 to 30 dollars.each person can send a 1.00 to a set paypal account?Just a thought if anyone is interested ?Vettes RULE!!!

The only way I think this could be done would be to write a letter to his parents c/o the school, asking their permission for us to send them a model which they could give to him on our behalf, perhaps anonymously.

If the parents are game, I think it would be a cool 'gift falling from the sky' for a 5th grader. Given the unfortunate nature of our times, Internet communities have to carefully think through communications with a minor, utterly respecting the right of parents to determine the appropriateness of any gift.
