I'm looking to buy a corvette. In 1984 all the magazines and auto reporters were just thrilled with the Crossfire injection and the marvelous Z-51 suspension. After paying out the nose for the car I soon found that the suspension was a killer. The Z51 was so stiff that every bump in the road went right to your back. I even bumped my head on the roof a few times when not wearing the seatbelt.

I love the look and styling of the 2002-2004, Z06, but what is that suspension like? From what I've read the F55 is probably what I need but I'd have to give up that great Z06 styling.

Can anyone make a comparison of these two vehicles for me? Thanks.

The Z51 is hardly harsh, it's just geared for more performance driving. I wouldn't say it's "stiffer"... but "firmer". Very tolerable. Fun as hell.

Just completed a 3,900 mile trip with the DC crew to Nevada and I can tell you that my Z06 rode like a dream, you can put a 1,000 miles on at a time and there is no harse ride:thumbsup:
