Your issue has nothing to do with this recall. It's a common issue on the C5 that everyone faces, especially if you don't use top tier fuel. The common fix has been ti use TechronPLUS additive to a tank of gas every few tanks. TechronPLUS is expensive and I found that Gumout's Fuel Injector Cleaner works even better than TechronPLUS. Since I have been using Gumout's product, the problem has went away for good.
After having my Vette at the Fairway Dealership for a full day and a half, they finally called me only to tell me that I needed a new fuel pump...Really Dude?..So I asked "are you aware that you guys just replaced that fuel pump 6 months ago? With a repair cost of over $2000 charged to Carmax Warranty?..Just pull up your history". Their response was "Oh....We will call you back.....well 6 hours later I still have not heard back from them.
Dude, they're trying to bend you over. Pick your car up and take it to a reputable mom and pop shop. Most stealerships are not your friend. What's wrong with your car that made you take it in?

You won't get a letter unless you signed up with GM or you bought the car new from a GM dealership. Other than that, they have no way of knowing that you have the car.

The dealership called back, said my Vette is fixed at no charge but they want to keep it until Monday to have their QC guy test drive it so that they are 100% sure I wouldn't have any more fuel system problems.
AJ, According to Paul ( c4c5specialist ) Techtron is not the answer. ( It worked for me BTW )

I would need to see the question that he responded to because he specifically stated that he was addressing the FFS fuel system, and the question asked may noy be the same problem that is being discussed here. Also, he is correct about Techron. Techron doesn't contain the additive that addresses this problem, TechronPLUS does. They are two different products and he addressed that in some post that I have read of his. He also addressed the fact that Seafoam doesn't contain that additive either.
The fuel gauge issue that we are talking about and what you are experiencing is NOT a recall. It was a TSB technical service bulletin), which are released to authorized service centers to address common issues seen in the shop. As a consumer, you would normally never see these bulletins as they are not released to, or written for the consumer. Thanks to the Internet age, this information can be found by Joe weekend mechanic now.

Yep, that's two different issues that guy is having. The software issue that Paul addresses affects a wider range of years than just the 2003-04 years (it affected my 2001, although the software did nothing to fix the issue). It is always the starting point BEFORE you turn any screws if your car falls withing the VIN numbers affected. However, his other issue was addressed in this TSB.

OK Let me ask you this, on my 2009 corvette came with an aftermarket radio with backup cam. I replaced it with a 2012 radio, w/ nav but no backup cam. Is there a part I could add to my 2012 radio to give me a backup cam ? If I fix this fuel leak myself any advice?
