I just bought a C5 and want to change the wheels......
Which way should I go?
1.) 19" wheels all around.... possibly 19X9.5 front and 19X11 rear
2.) 19" front wheels and 20" rears.....
Car is 100% stock.....
As a newbie to C5's --- I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

You're gonna hear a bunch of opinions on this, here's mine...

The C5 should have a rake, and the wheels should be staggered, that's the way it was designed. Go with either an 18/19 or 19/20 combo.

Here's mine with 19x9.5 f and 20x11 r

Thanks for the reply SheriffD2:

What kind of wheels do you have in that picture?
What tire sizes????....

If I go 19/20 like you... on my stock C5 --- I won't have to do anything modification-wise, right?
thanks

No modification necessary at all to fit this setup, but, that said, the wheels must be properly ordered, correct offsets etc.

MAKE SURE YOU GO WITH A QUALITY WHEEL COMPANY that understands Corvettes offsets and proper fitment! THis is a Corvette, don't scrimp on quality;)

Wheels are iForged Aeros, in fully polished finish. As I said, sizes are 19"x9.5" front, and 20"x11" rear and will fit a 'big'brake' upgrade if you ever want to go that route.

Tires are Continental ContiSportContact3 275/30-ZR19 and 305/25-ZR20 respectively.

Check out our vendor D2Autosports for wheels and TD4L for the tires, both great companies to work with and very fair pricing:thumbsup:

I had 19" CCW 505a's all around on my car, and sold them for these 19/20 CCW T10s. I agree with the previous poster that these cars look best with staggered wheel diameters. Here are my 2 most recent pics:

I'm thinking of doing similar to FULL-TLT's C5 and running 19" wheels on all 4....19X10 actually..... I think it will look good....
Any ideas on tire sizes for an all 19" set-up?
I'm very "new" in this area.....
thanks

I am running 265/30R19 and 295/30R20 Toyo Proxes 4. They are the only tires available in those sizes...I really wanted 275s up front, but they don't make them.

Most people run the 305/25R20s in the rear, but they are really short...looks out of place when the rear tire isn't as thick as the front, ya know?

I agree with the dual sizes too, they really look good with the different wheels front to back.

the 19x10's work well... when I replace the tires I will use 265/30/19 for the front the OD is 25.4 same as OE 265/40/17 ... In the rear I'll use 295/30/19 the OD is 25.9 justa little shorter then the OEM 26.1 OD

just my $.02

With the 18-19" combos I've had, both factory and aftermarket, I didn't like the inherent tracking issues that are so typical on NJ roads. When I switched to 19"s all the way around, it really helped.

As mentioned earlier... you will get many viewpoints on this.

I feel the ideal rim sizes for the C5 are 18"/19"... my CCW SP500's are 18x9.5" and 19x11".

Offset is critical. CCW's with a 3" lip and 8-1/4" backspacing (for the rear) will allow the tread to be inboard, but your sidewall will most likely be outboard.

Here are a couple of pix of mine...
