Ok, i recently just bought a 1971 corvette (350, with 3 speed auto trans. on the specs plate it say 270hp and 360 ft. pds of torque blah blah blah) nothing that special.. but:
right where the radio and console come together it has a plate that says Sushine Edition. And the interior back in the day must have been high quality. B/c it has alot of "chrome like" accents and leather dash and seats. The car is in the shop right now, or i would have pictures. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,
****-shootin

No "Sunshine Edition" from GM. Not sure what you have but sounds like an installation by a previoius owner. For '71, the deluxe interior included leather seating surfaces, wood trim on the console and doors, and carpet trim on the door panels. Dashes have always been vinyl with a leather looking grain to it -- never the real thing.

'76 shown. Other years similar.

As for the "chrome", the center cluster and console trim plate are bright metal beneath the semi-flat black.

Note where shift pattern was. Bright metal.
