I have been getting a code 52 set in the computer that is a re-ocurring trouble code. It doesn't trigger the light, but it does come back if I errase it. On the 1985, 52 is a missing MEMCAL chip. Not the PROM, but the other small chip in the computer that is your default(limp home chip). My MEMCAL is there, but might be bad. I've swapped whole computers, but they don't come with that chip in them, you have to install your old one. That didn't fix it, so I guess it is the chip that is bad. These chips are year, and vehicle specific. Do any of you 85 guys have an old computer that still has the MEMCAL in it that I could buy. The dealerships around here say they can't get it. SO PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

I was mistaken when I said MEMCAL chip missing for code 52. It is actually the Fuel CALPAK that it is saying is missing. Which is the small chip in the computer that is beside the EPROM. It is the limp home mode chip. Does anyone have an old ECM for an 85 that still has this chip in it? Dealer here does not have it. Has to be an 1985 corvette because it is vehicle and year specific.
