Please Help!! throttle pedal replacement

i have an 85 vette and have a broken throttle pedal. i am 6'2 and need to find out how to fit under the dash and remove the throttle cable from the pedal. i see a black clip but i cant figure out how is comes off. all of your help is greatly appeciated! thanx

Is it the pedal itself broken or the plastic pivot block for it that is "notorious" for breaking? No gratuitous use of my user name intended. :laughing:

the plastic pivot block is broken. that comes off easy. its just getting in next to the steering shaft to get the cable off the old pedal and how to get that clip on the cable off the pedal

i feel kind of dumb now but i did get that new pedal assy in. the trick that i failed to realize the first time is to unhook the throttle cable from the TB. by doing so there is no tension on the cable and gives you the needed room to play with. the clip just pushes straight up and the pedal comes off. took about five min after i figued out what i was doing.
