New Donner 350 (look how dirty the heads where b4 i got to them)

Cleaned intake mainifold ready for painting

Masking cylinder head for painting

First Head off and engine looking good

Nice shiny black heads

i had to go with iron heads as no alloy ones are availble locally, and and idiots who had my car before put 305 heads on it, so i got some 350 heads good condition and they will do until i get some alloy ones.
The Final Product

And my cat that helps me with everything :afro:

the heads finally all bolted down and set, after around a months worth of work

all my new parts they have taken over my spare room :) this is about 50% of parts to come

full new bushings kit, but there are few majour pecies missing out of this kit, very good price to $120

my new second hand wirring loom as they dont make new ones, but at least this one has all the connections, relays and all wires in the correct places unlike my orginal ones which have been chopped and buggerd around with, will have do attach all the new clips, wire hose and clean it all up, but the company who sold me them test them prior to give you 1 year garantee on all the wiring

yestarday i decieded over haul my starter motor here are the before and after shots,
Before

After

This is the next part to be overhualed and made all shiny again while the car is being painted

Here is the finished engine all painted, just need to paint the intake mainifold this week, :)

So heres todays progress had to go and buy exhust manifolds from the scrap yard as my ones had had the oxygen lines cut, and they dont seem to sell new ones only header kits, i have painted up the heat shields, going to sandblast the manifolds this week, and paint them in a dark metallic silver

Here are the mainfolds for the exhaust b4 and after
Before when they were in the scrap yard

after i cleaned and painted the covers

sand blasting the tubes

and after the sand blast

after i cleaned and painted them i went with silver in the end as there is gonna be alot of black in the engine room

and here is the body
so far for some reason they just sprayed primer over the chasis and body BEFORE they removed the old paint or cleaned it properly???? so i had a strong word with him as to why they primed the car before sanding the old paint i think it was to trick me into thinking they had done more than they really had as its been nearly three weeks and only last 3 days have they done any real work on it the guy was abit supprised that i knew what i was talking about

if u look at the firewall u to the left you can see where i pulled off an old AC gasket that they ddint remove and proved to him they hadnt sanded the old paint off first seems like they are wasting good primer as the car needs all the old paitn removed A cause its 20 years old and B that its been resprayed b4 very badly i know they do good work its just i dont like being lied to

And here are some pics from the paint shop they just finished 3 coats of under seal today when it dries i will probly paint a semi gloss black for show purposes and they are fibre glassing out iperfections, i made them remove half of it as there was too much and plus they went over cracks that need welding, got keep one eye open

Opening the diff and giving it the full overhaul, and clean up and paint

Sanding down the doors i made sure they sanded all the way back to Gelcoat only way to get a super clean finish which will last for years

here is part of the chassis after priming after i spent days grinding it back to raw metal again only way to get best finish and eliminate rust.

the first coat of 2K black super shiny and super tough

Here is the cross member for the engine mounts and rack and pinion

lovely shiny black

and the bonnet 90% ready for paint

for the firewall im going with MATT black to match the Matt under the Bonnet
Chassis parts are all 2K black
Undersealed bottom with Matt black coating,
All under fibre glass is matt black
Interior will be grey primer colour
body Pearl White

Finished my brake calipers cleaned paint, new seals and pads, and piston smoothing

Transmission cleaning and painting it

and started to assemble my front suspension got some bolts to collect from galvanizing then that should be complete and start on the diff

hope you guys enjoy the pics will post more photos as soon as i complete the suspension and wirring,

As of this posting, I can't see photo #6 in post #1, and photos #2 & #10 in post #2. All the others have been cleared up from my posting this morning.

It looks like you're doing an outstanding job on this restoration.

Ok here todays update

Ok guys been about a week so here are the updates

here are the wheel hubs b4 i attacked them hehe

and here is the fnished article,
new Ebrake pads, new rotors, and new wheel bearing, everything else has been cleaned painted, all bolts galvinzed and all brake parts cleaned and renewed

finally got the Diff back, so painted it up and painted the journals then mounted it

the underseal as attracted alot of dust from the paint shop so i will be cleaning that this week, but it really is a semi gloss black underseal

and then i moved to the front of the car and mounted the cross member and completed the front suspension just need to wind the spring up now should do that 2morro plus waiting on a seal kit for pwr steering.

have a few small thins to finish for the diff few bolts, and need to find the orginal diff mount bolts, then once the suspension is complete will redo all the brake lines, and then then install the engine and tranny as 1 unit,

hope you like pics more to come soon :D
