Annie and I were proud to be the Captains for the Illinois and Iowa sections of the 2009 NCM Corvette Caravan.

Our Caravan merged with the Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota groups in Beloit Wisconsin, and then joined the rest of the IL/IA crowd in Bloomington.

Here are some pictures along the way ...

The car is packed, washed, and ready to head out ...

At the first Midwest Merge, we had approximately 250 cars. This was Bud Weiser Chevrolet in Beloit, WI.

Annie's always had a soft spot for C3 coupes (me, too!)

Overnight in Bloomington, getting ready to head out ..

Holding the Driver's Meeting ...

Our arrival at our next rally point - Marion, IL

We stayed in Marion over the lunch hour, and started our staging process while waiting for our police escort...

Our arrival at the Museum - we routed through the Plant parking lot, then to the Museum. I was #1 - and I got through the NCM, back on the road, and back to the Museum before all my cars made it through! Neat!

Us at the Museum the next morning ...

Various shots around the Museum ...

I was awarded Master Ambassador for 2009 ...

Captain's Banners ...

The NCM is also working on a track ...

The Road Warrior makes it home - through rain, sunshine, and aerial assault ...

We had a blast, and can't wait for the next one!

Awesome pictures!

That Corvette Cafe at the Museum looks pretty cool...did they have good food?
I've heard good things about the cafe, but I've never eaten there - we seem to be there midmorning, midafternoon, or involved in some evening reception.

It just looks like a neat place and probably has tons of cool memorabilia in it. Perhaps someone who's been in there can post up a picture of the inside.:D Glad you had fun, looked like a blast!

Nice job and GREAT pictures. I was the Captain for Michigan and I'm trying to collect photographs to document the event. I was so busy talking and giving instructions, that I didn't take any personal photographs. Now I'm trying to collect them from assigned personnel.

Can you tell this was my first attempt at Caravan?

I did much the same - I had too much to do to spend a lot of time with pictures. Our video camera also decided to quit working the day we were leaving!

And yes, I understand the feeling of running a large Caravan for the first time!

Hats off to everyone who helped part the caravan together.:partyon: Well organized. Was able to join caravan in Little Rock but barely. Was still putting engine together a week before.

Does anybody have a car count for each caravan or total at BG?
