June 6, 2021. Rumor has it that another parts shortage (not related to MicroChips this time) has GM so concerned about the production that they have notified Dealers that no new orders will be accepted for the 2021 C8. GM wants to have no delay in the 2022 C8 production so 2021 orders that HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED WILL BE PRODUCED.

The obvious:
If your 2021 order has been accepted into the C8 production system, based on current knowledge, you will receive your 2021 C8...at some point prior to the release of the 2022.

If you don't know if your 2021 order has been accepted into the C8 production system, it would be wise to call your dealer immediately to check the status of your order. You might need to discuss the possible need to move that order over to a 2022 model.

No one at GM has been made available to confirm or deny the above. This usually means a dealer leaked this before GM PR has written up an announcement.
