My high fan setting isn't working on the A/C. Positions 1, 2, and 3 all work fine and it blows cold air.

I've been told it could be a relay, but I don't know what that means.

Any help on this?

Thanks...

There is a relay that powers the hi-speed of the blower fan. When you select hi, the relay turns on, it feeds a higher current to the motor than could be drawn thru the dash mounted switch. On my 69, the relay is mounted on the left fenderwell about the front of the master cylinder. Check for 12 volts at that relay. I don't recall if there is a fuse in-line on your car, but someone will have a wire diagram that will show the entire blower motor circuit. I think Big2Bird (Jeff) has one already posted. Do a search for Heater or A/C fan and see what you can find.

Thanks Tim...

Yeah, I found one other thread about this. I'm going to pick up some Radio Shack contact cleaner on the way home and start there. I'll also check for in-line fuses.

Appreciate the help...

This should help a bit

Its for an 81, but should be pretty close.
Check the ground on the relay and then for 12V at the relay coil with the switch on Hi

Ok... here's the next chapter...

I replaced the hi blower relay. I then started the engine and switched the function to A/C. As soon as I did, the A/C fuse blew.

Now there is no A/c, no fan on any speed. Replaced the fuse, didn't blow, but still No a/c, no fan on any speed.

Gettin a little frustrated...

Thanks for the help.

Unplug the relay and test for 12v on the red wire, and voltage on the dark blu wire that follows the speed switch on the console. I wonder if you got the correct relay? Sounds like it burned inside

I'll test the wires...

The relay looks identical. I bought it a NAPA. I even gave him the part number, so it should be right.

Then I plugged in the old relay but still nothing.

Is there another fuse somewhere that could have blown?
