I have a stock 1992 with I believe 275x40xR17 all around. I believe 17 x 9.5 rims. I just bought some black zr1 18 x 9.5 rims all around for the car, as the stock rims are shot. What size tires should I purchase. The Black On Black with Black Rims may be too much but we will see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

275/35/18 and 275/30/18 will both work and keep you within an acceptable diameter of your stock size. I have contemplated this same change myself with the same stock offset. I am very anxious to see what tires you find for this application. Keep us posted!!

I just bought the same wheels for my '86 but I had a friend repaint them 2 pack silver for me.
The best tire size (to maintain diameter) is 285/35-18 all round. That's what I have and they fit nicely.
