Might not be the time of year for this but here's a question.
I have an 87 with cold A/C about a month or so ago I'm out on some back roads doing some spirted driving and when I turned hard left the heat came on full blast. I turned the whole system off and restarted it and it blew cold again. Next hard left same thing. Any ideas?
I did not have a chance to go right so I don't know if it will happen then.

only thing i can think of,is maybe there is very little oil in the compressor,so when you turn it rolls to one side and the compressor "trips off".But iv'e actually never seen this happen before.
Is eveything tight in engine compartment?No hoses pushing on wires and that sort of thing?Have the a/c checked out.
I will be using my a/c in a few minutes when i run around and do some shopping.

NO I didn't. The only problem with your thoughts 5-lo is that it turns to hot air like you turned the heater on.

did it switch to defrost also?? or did it just get hot??
does it still do it??

It always blows out the defrost I was told there is a flap of some sort that isn't working properly.

now you might have 2 flaps not working right!!
Can you hear a Hissing sound in the car (Vacuum leak)???
can you hear things moving when you switch from defrost to floor
is it automatic or manual heater/ac ??????

you need to run the self test on the control head. It's been a long time since I've done one, I'll have to look it up at work tomarrow... unless someone on here remembers the procedure
