I have a special project I'm planning for my Vette.

I need to get some technical advise from someone extremely skilled in automotive electronics and ignition systems.

Any volunteers?

I am an EE and used to do custom embedded electronics and systems for racing cars and now avionics for UAVs. Let me know what you want to do and I might be able to help.

This project is still open. Are you still available to PM about it?

Anyone else who maybe didn't catch this the last time think they can be of assistance?

The project is a secret, until it's done, so sorry for the vague up front information.

I have quite a bit of electrical experience and studying, though mechanical engineering is what I'm actually in school for. My experience goes beyond automotive too, so might be able to give a unique perspective.

Never actually received anything from you. You asked a few questions to narrow down what I was doing and never heard anything back. I think I even sent a follow up email a month or so ago. I just figured you didn't have the time to help.

I can't help, but I wish I could and also REALLY wonder what you are up to :)

LOL, soon to be revealed. Nothing Earth shattering but it'll be fun.

I am no Electrical Engineer.

I do have a AAS in Electronics Technolgy from 1990.
ASE Master Mechanic, L1 Advanced Driveabilty Specialist.
I am book smart.
I like racing.
Drag racing especially.

Don't know what your plans are but if you are going Old School....
with a Vertex Magneto I can help you.
I rebuild Mags in my spare time.
Use them in my own cars.
87 vert of mine is getting a Vertex mag also.

If you plan on running twin turbos with over 40lbs of boost with 120 motor octane race gas & 2 fuel injectors per cylinder, custom sheetmetal intake, ect,
Individual coil on plug & front balancer mounted crank trigger wheel the better way to go.

If Your using a Roots supercharger & methanol alcohol fuel or race gas,
can't go wrong with a Vertex OAC or OAX Mag.

Building a 3,000+ Horsepower monster & sticking it into a Corvette & running low 6's @ 212mph would be lots of fun.
You drive though.

Start driving now and you'll be here in a few hours. I'll have some beers cold and ready, some burgers on the BBQ, and tunes playing out in the garage. You can tell me all about that 3,000HP engine and we'll discuss how to fit in a project.

LOL.

Just got home 1 hour ago & settled in for the night.
Rebuilt a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Super Dana 30 front differential for a buddie today.

You have to get Grumpy & others involved in this dream 3,000+ horsepower build too.

If your serious, we need $$$ to start buying parts, custom machining fabrication, ect.
Need a Pro Stock style chrome moly roll cage for safety & a full interior fire extinguisher system.

I just want 1,000 + horsepower on the street before I die.
I will die a happy man then.

Weather is getting real nice here in the midwest.
may have to hop in my 87 vert & ride down to you in Missouri this spring & have a beer with you.

Only GM engine that can come close or match the power of Chrysler Hemi in full race trim unleashed......

Big Block Chevy.
De -stroke it.
9,000 + RPM target power band.

BBC Pontiac Big Chief Heads.
Or latest BBC Brodex castings.
Full titanium In & Ex valves.

Go from there.

Also need a LENCO 5- speed trans, Hurst Lightning shifter set.
Trick Titanium Bellhousing with current NHRA certification sticker attached.
Crower Glide clutch with a titanium hat & Ti stands.

Custom made Crower Long rod 6AL4V Ti rods.

3 sets of JE, Diamond, or Ross pistons made to specs.
test & tune under full power runs may burn up a piston ring land or dome till race tune is right.
Don't want to be held up racing with no extra pistons on hand.

Brooks billet crankshaft made.

Hard fill an aftermarket BBC block like a Merlin or Dart.
Its going to see tremendous power adder boost & tremendous torque loads over 2,000 flywheel foot lbs continous under full power passes.

Have to get all that power to the ground too.
Mark Williams Billet Modular rear assembly.
aluminum housing ends full floating style.

Or STRANGE Engineering TOP FUEL Rear end assembly with 2.91 gears & carbon fiber brake rotors.
Opt for the Titanium 1- piece axle shaft.

Remember your Viaing for TOP GUN in the USA & around the world.
Low 6's 1/4 mile.

I just spent well over $50 K in parts,
car not done yet.

;)

LOL

Dry sump engine is a must.
Barnes.
MOROSO.

No messing around with electric fuel pumps.
Unreliable at high G's below 8's 1/4 mile passes.
Belt drive Waterman or BLP- Bo Laws.

Let me know if you like the plan or not so far.

You want your Vette to be a Big Tire Car.
Trust me.
10.5" wides could be done.
Would be like driving on wet ice at 200 + MPH with a 10.5" wide rear rubber.
Get loose in the rear, you may get airborne then & flip the car on the big end.

Extravagant build using 4130, 4140 chrome moly, titanium, & magnesium.

Billet aluminum is for show queens only that wastes only $$ to go faster & faster.

My engine is already done. Just a roller 405 with dual side draft carbs, in front of a TH2004R.

The plan I am looking for help with is an electrical project. Total costs for said project will not exceed $45.

There's a few guys here in Missouri that I want to catch up with at some point. I love meeting new people that share this addiction.

LOL........

OK>> $45 it is.

We will get the other $200,000 + to build your next 6- second 1/4 mile ET Race & Street driven Corvette from Barry- Obama.
He owes you any how.
Tell him he lost the bet & to pay up.
No excuses.

I can help you with your wiring project.
Pay for my gasoline driving to you.
I will keep it under 100 mph to get 22-24 mpg in my 87 Vert.
Anything else would be OK too.
Up to You.
