Hi folks
I just got back from my first Beat the Heat race, in Muncie IN. It was hosted by Bluffton, IN PD. We had a ball. There were over 250 high school age kids racing everything from Mom's mini van to all out drag cars. For safety reasons the 1/4 mile track was cut to 1/8 mile. The goal was to teach young drivers that racing belongs on a race track, with the added message that "drugs kill dreams."

My stock '93 tuned in a 9.12 at 78.87mph. Not the fasted car there, but it was my first race and I, along with all the kids had a blast.

Now I have to clean 360 miles of bugs off the front of the car, but it was worth it to see the kids have such a good time and perhaps convince a few of them that racing aint for the street.

Kids loved the Vette cop car!
