is DCR of 8.4:1 safe on 93 octane?

for the sake of arguement.

3.75" stroke
4.03 bore
5cc relief pistons
64cc heads
288/300(236/248) .54/.54 lift 112 LSA 4 degress of advance

.04 gasket thickness
4.06 gasket bore
0 piston to deck clearence

If this is going to work all I need is a rotating assembly, and some machine work.

With no vacuum advance, yes, I run 91 octane with that DCR :thumbs:

The 383 part will calm it down a bit, but I am open to suggestion. I would like a sporty motor and not a truck motor.

These daze with modern roller cams, I know thoughts have progressed, but in the olde school daze, long stroke engines were torque built, and short stroke was for RPM.....

hense the 400 block with 350 crank at 377?.....I don't profess to know, as I come from old Pontiacs mainly, and they were all torque dead at 5 grand....

headers that reached the back bumper....etc....:laughing: :cheers:

which is one thing I love about the TPI, even with larger runners/etc...it's still a torquey thing in my 355 '72 here....and so makes a rather quick street fun car....sure it's only ~375-400 hp...but it's down lo...
