Just the beginning of the project

Thought I'd start with the current pictures of a 85 black Z51 car.

Not sure of what it will be in the end, depending on $ and time, but its a start...

Right now the plans are finishing up getting a trans in that works, then getting it to the body shop and have it soda blasted...

It the end, a nice white/flag car or navy blue C4 that can be enjoyed and not parted out as the white car had to be...

Yep the spoiler will be gone...

As far as the hood prop, it will shine like new...lol

Starting om the body by stripping all paint using a razor blade, this took about an hour and looks like it will work!

Yep a lot of work, but will be done in the next few months. The car used to be red, so it is a lot to strip:

Black
Primer
Red
Primer
Gelcoat

Almost have the back end off and then the front and stripping in between...

Thanks for the offer, but I think I am going with a newer style front and back...I'll keep it in mind though

Good news: Car is about 1/3 stripped

Bad news: Just found another layer of primer/paint

Finally down to the gelcoat...i think...lol

Worked on it some more this weekend, all stripped except drivers door and hood (the hardest to do) my camera is getting fixed and I will have some pictures soon.

Update:

Car is just about stripped, found a lot of repair areas on the drivers side. Should be sanding this week and getting ready to primer and paint.

The good news...the Trans was replaced and working fine, engine runs really smooth after warming up. I do have a check engine light on and the Hyper chip really makes it run rich, so I will be doing my own to get it to run better.

It is finally off jack stands to move it around and get to areas that were hard to reach before.
