i have a question for all you C-4 people,I just got in mine today,and after i started it up i heard a squeal that sounded as if it was comeing from the belt tension unit.I was woundering if this a rebuild item,ie bearins in the idler pulley ,or is this a unit that has to be replaced altogether?I would be interested to hear from anybody whos had this problem,so i can trouble shoot it.:lookinup: :buhbye: :thumbsup: ken,and as allways save that wave.

A squeal can be caused by the pulley of some accessory seizing up. Like your water pump... alternator.....

Just pop your belt off and give the idler a spin you will hear the bearing if it is bad. I paid less than $15 each for them at the local parts store.

Also check the other belt driven items while you are at it.
