This is what a leader sounds like. It has been so long since we have heard and felt our leader speak with so much passion for his country... and ours.

"Isreal stands with the US" ....Of course it does, The US is the most important part of Isreals economy. Without the billions of tax dollars we give them every year thier economy would colapse.

"Thank you for defending Isreals right to defend itself".....Defend itself by building more and more setlements in disputed lands while saying they want to negociate the peace?

It simply amazes me that you fiscal conservatives see no problem pumping billions and billions of our tax dollars into a foreign country year after year, while they do everything in thier power to keep us off balance and commited to them because they cannot get along with thier neighbors. Thier bullshit quest for peace is just there to keep us funding them while knowing full well that if they gave up the peace process they may lose some funding. They play this country like a well tuned violin, and while they enjoy the sweet music at our expense we starve our people, refuse to educate our kids, and plan to take away the insurance plan that has protected our seniors for over 50 years. And then you applaud the leader of a foreign country for speaking well as he divides this country against itself....you are such patriots.:down:

IDK which history you read, but according to real history, it's their neighbors who are the problem.. they have all pretty much set themselves on a "No Israel" course. I do agree foreign aid should be ended, for everyone. B ut, this government system is not interested in what's best for the USA.. they are interested in driving profits for their corporate owners.

Antisemitism is on the rise, and like I have said for a couple years now, we are seeing a repeat of the 1930's.

Now there is an interesting slant if I ever saw one. The problems Israel has with it's neighbors do not fall in the "can't get along" category. They fall in the "Arabs won't rest until Israel dies" category. The "disputed" settlements are areas won by Israel when they defeated the enemies who attacked them over 40 years ago. They returned much of what they gained, but they kept the areas from which the major attacks occurred so they could defend against future attacks. You and Obama seem to think Hamas and Hezbollah are a couple of book-of-the-month clubs or something. Get real. That part of the world is a nasty place, and Israel is doing everything it can to simply survive. Giving in to the simpletons who think playing nice with the Arabs will cause them to be nice is not a very good strategy.

If we told Isreal that if they don't make peace immediatly we will cut off all funding, you would see them make peace damn quickly. Even majorities in Isreal have been calling for peace but the hard liners figure that they make more money from us if they are in a hightened state all the time. Isreal has been offered everything they want in peace negiciations but always find one last thing to push for to kill it. It is time for a new approach.

You do realize that in addition to the return of land, the Palestinians demand the ability of potentially millions of Palestinians to return to land that is inside Israel. The two peoples cannot coexist in the same space when the larger group is determined that the smaller group has no right to exist at all. How can you say Israel is to blame for this? Do you really believe that if Israel gave in to all the demands that Hamas and Hezbollah would lay down their arms and live in peace with Israel? If you do, you are very naive.

How about we stop paying all of them ? Palestinians have also been given billions and billions... and 1/3 of the land they lost during the attempt to take everything from Israeli. They're both assholes. It's an entire region of assholes. -Netanyahu... is a great leader, though.

"We" do not starve people. They starve themselves. "We" do not rob them of an education. It's there for all to take advantage of. Read - Good parenting.
And if your neighbor throws rocks at your Vette and keeps breaking the windshield or shooting at your family what would you do? Keep the peace with him? Yeah right.

The palastinians offered to limit the number of refugees that could return to Isreal in 2000. The limit was set at 150,000 and Isreal wanted the limit to be 100,000. Further offers were to give the palastinians 73% of what they have now in the gaza strip, while the palastinians wanted a one for one land swap. Although in U.S. media Barak's offer was often portrayed as being "generous," the Israeli group Gush Shalom stated that "the offer is a pretense of generosity for the benefit of the media", and included detailed maps of what the offer specifically entailed. This is typical of how Isreal has negociated and we always blame the palastinians for the failures while even Isreali groups like Gush Shalom see that it is Isreal that kills the deals.

If your neighbor kept adding to his house on your property and cutting off your water supply what would you do??? If your neighbor blocked your ability to leave your house anytime they feel like it how would you feel?

While we now average about $400 million in aid to Palistine since 2004 up from 75 million durring the 90s, we average over 2.5 Billion in aid to Isreal, a year. That does not include huge donations of weapons and weapons systems that we give them and that does not include special grants for business developement. A conservative estimate for direct aid to Isreal is at about 114 billion. The indirect costs are estimated to be many time that amount.

Ok, but again, if Israel gives in completely to the demands of Obama and the Palestinians, do you really believe Hamas and Hezbollah will live in peace with Israel? No way. If Israel is to coninue to exist, they are going to have to survive in that bunker of a country and defend themselves continually forever. I do not believe peace can ever happen in that region, because there is simply a centuries old hate for the Jews in the Arab world.

The very same can be said of virtually every other government and people in the region... by every super power in the world. China just gave Pakistan 10 of it's newest fighters and proclaimed "best friend status".

The truth is that if Isreal and Palastine made a peace deal and the palistinians attacked Isreal (I mean the government not just some nut firing a big firecracker) Isreal could wipe them out, we would back them completely and the world would see the palistinians as the problem and do away with them once and for all. As it now stands the world sees Isreal as the problem as do many Isrealis and that hurts our standing in the world as well as Isreals.
