Blackwing install

I just got a blackwing for my 2002 Z06. I noticed there are two holes on the top of the filter. I only have the one hose to connect. There is nothing to plug the other hole with the kit. Do I just leave the hole open or am i missing a part.

Do you have any pictures of the unit or the install. Its been awhile since I have looked at a C5. did the instructions give any idea what the holes might be?
my digital camera is not working right now. There is nothing in the instructions about it. Its all hooked up but there is now a 1/2" hole in the top of the filter.

It seems like I should not leave it open. Dirt Etc.

I am guessing you may be missing a part. There is a little plastic canister on the top that shows when the filter needs cleaning. I am thinking thats what may be missing and may be the hole you are referring to. Did you buy it used?
i sold my c5 last year so i can't double check this but,

1 hole is for the stock senser to tell you if the filter is block with dirt

the other is for the hose. don't run the car without both holes being used
Thanks. I just got it new. I will go back to the shop and get the missing part.

You guys are the best.

By the way I have had the Z for a month now and Im loving it. I have replacerd the seat covers and foam with a Vette Essentials sport seat with the Z06 logo on them. I have also put a B&M shifter in it, now the blackwing. Future mods are a harness system in red of course. The car is electric blue and I love it.

I have been saving for this car for 10 years now. It was worth the wait.:D
your not missing any parts. the senser should be on the stock air box. remove it from the stock box and install on the blackwing.

Sounds like you have the Blackwing for the 97-00 Corvette rather than the 01-04. Did you buy it used?

Here is my 99 Blackwing, should be close to what you have less the NX nozzles and the straight air hose adapter (factory was a 90° Black plastic fitting).

I so love this site. Pictures and everything.
Thats it but what is that thing with the GM 15713007 label? That is where the hole is.

Remember its a 2002 Z06.
I know my 01 did not have the pluged filter sensor on it. Did you get any plugs with the kit. I beleive that is just a visual sensor, its not hooked to the computer..

That is the plastic thing that tells you when your filter needs to be taken out and cleaned. You will need to get that if yours didnt come with it i would be calling the place you got it and letting them know asap. Keep your regular filter and airbox on the car until they get you the missing part.
