I would advise to either get yours shortened or have a shop make you a whole new shaft.

Not only is it an opportunity to get a transmission yoke with zero miles of seal groove worn in, but when the ends are cut the shop can verify thickness. You may be suprised how rusty & thin the inside of a 30 year old driveshaft can get while looking fine on the outside.

The other thing is an actual performance car should have a shaft that's straighter, stronger, and better balanced than any OEM shaft you'd find in a junkyard.

good luck with the project
