damn, that's a pretty sweet deal. What all do you mean by "sort out"? Are we talkin' full resto or troubleshooting vaccum leaks, carb issues, timing, suspension, steering, etc?

I mean there is a knocking in my motor..I ran low on oil on a 6000 rpm +blast...its still runs but I won't risk driving it like that...and the steering colunm is loose in all directions..I want to do a ring job and new bearings..I think that will sort out the knocking..and the loose steering I believe is some loose screws in the column..

I'm sure there are Corvette clubs in England and there is bound to be a couple members there with experience with C3's. That's a lot of expense to go to just to fix up your car (but I understand). Good luck.

Mark call me back. I don't have the time to go and I'm not into the columns but I have a guy who can handle everything on the car and may be interested. Not sure he will tear down an engine without all his tools but I'll put you in contact with him.
Sounds interesting and I would travel in the USA but nothing beats having your own tools and shop to use. There is always something missing or forgotten.

ok Gary

Give me your number and I'll call you or just send me his and I'll call

him. If you change your mind, wev'e got all the tools you'll need

and can get anything at short notice, including an engine stand.

I would of course assist you and would tear most down before you

or he got here. If you play pool or snooker there's a cool place

2 minutes from my place. Also you can work at my garage and

driveway, it's enough to do the job. I'm not loaded, but I will

also pay you something for your trouble. Prehaps it would be

a good idea if I called you and told you what parts I need and

I will reimburse you for them. I 'm sure a short call to the

airline will satisfy their security requirements, etc. I can do that

for you, no problemo. I'm sure you could do a great job for my

engine. I could always do the tilt tele later. So let's get this

show on the road dude.

Mark,
I already forwarded the info to him. It's not my place to forward his number without his knowledge.
I'm going to pass, I have a months work load here with boxes, differentials and rear arms.

Hey tracdog,

Thanks for reachin me. Your handle tells me your a
a racepro, probably a pit team guy to right. Also I am very impressed
with your answers on your posts, You certainly seem to know your stuff
and anyone that knew or has been around Duntov....what can
I say, it's like talking to someone who knows God. There are plenty
of machine shops all over the uk, so that's not a problem. I can tear
most of the motor apart ahead of time. I have replaced cams, electronic
ignitions, carbs etc, but this is a whole new ball game and I will only
trust an American who has been there, done that and you definately
seem to fit that bill. The tilt tele steering needs to be r & r'd and I
believe it's just the bolts need tightening. I would like to update my
motor with some narly pistons, rolller cam, etc. I was told the honing can
be done on the spot, but you would know more about that part. I would
arrange prepaid tickets at Dallas International and take care of accomodation, meals, etc. I sure hope you play pool, snooker, whatever.
There's a cool place two minutes away. I live with my Dad in a modern,
safe suburb about eighty miles north of London. Away from the rat race.
My Dad was a British DJ on KBOX Dallas WKY and KOMA Oaklahoma
in 65, thought you'd like to know that. What about you, is your name Mike.?
what's your phone, I'll call you and we'll yack a bit 1 on 1. Are you a family
Man, wish I could afford more than one for the trip. Oh just one more
thing, could you bring a couple of Cowboy Cheerleaders for me and my
Dad. lol.Talk to you soon,
Mark.
