It appears you have all the bases covered (as we say over here), while I am not a fan of the wing I love the rest of the car...the only improvements I can think of would be a stronger T-101A or SR1 face tooth engagement straight cut gear transmission and a smaller (maybe carbon fiber) clutch with a reverse drive starter...

Her are the pics of the engine comp.

Some of the parts are moved toward toward the front right, to even out corner weight. Small tank is breather for transmission.

Trying to mount all accesories as low as possible (cg) Notch in frame can be seen here. Roll cage extension and spreader bar is also visible.

Jeep steeringbox and mastersylinder setup. Bleeder for cluch and temporary brake pressure gage lines

Notch in frame large enough to replace belt .

Tight squeze. If I want to lower the engine further, it has to be moved aft to clear suspension.

Yes i rebuilt it myselves. No my mains are not pinned. I have been using thick bearings like the supercharged Caddilacs and Porsches instead of bearing spacers vith my 350 main crank. The box coms from Tom Reina at Corvette Steering. Wery helpful guy! 1,5 turns from lock to lock isn't it about 12:1? the centerlink is from a 75- Corvette "Beefier". Had problems with flex in the 68 centerlink. I believe The servo pump with integrated reservoir is made by AGI bought at Motorstate.

wrong ratio for racing.....
we need someone to do a true ratio,, at the wheels,,. I'm running a jeep box,, the box ratio is 12.1, if a SUV can live with 12.1?? my mini coopers over all steering is 13.1 and is much quicker and is twitchy,, the corvette does not feel as fast,,, pitman arm length,, steering arm lengths all change the over all ratio,,,

I can figure it,, manually,, but maybe someone can do it on paper??

how about this one,,,,,

4takt...how functional is the radiator hood venting ala C6R's, it does not appear that it is "sealed" to move all radiator air over the rear of the hood. I have been wondering when someone would try that.....and how far back does your splitter extend?
By the way gorgeous car:thumbsup:

The splitter was remowed vhen I took the photos last night. It does seal up! The hood is somewhat experimental. I will continue working on aero, and try to get som testresults next spring. All we know now is that we can be later on the brakes and there is no front lift at the straights. There is a 3" clearance for the exhaust pipes If the track is slightly bumpy they will hit at 130mph "Have a degree in Aerospace Engineering from KU".

I have measured the ratio of a Jeep box and come up with 13.38:1 (2.75 turns, lock to lock, 74 degrees). C3 box is 16:1.

The C5 & 6 R were not the first corvette race cars to have an extractor type radiator setup (the gT40 had it also BTW, as did many others)

Check this beauty out, greenwood tube frame car.

Here is my 10 cents...

Well, I have thinking about this and trying to mount a logical response..and all I can come up with is…are you kidding me!
I think that your C3 is fantastic but you are comparing apples to watermelons. I fully appreciate your racer, but even with the latest in additions and technologies, there are light years of difference between a Z06R-GT3 and your ride. I believe that you could hold your own with a stock Z06. I would love to see that. I will tell you how you can do both.
Enclosed is the latest specs on the Callaway Z06R-GT3 Corvette. This is a car that has been honed to perfection such that it just won the FIA GT3 Manufactureres Title. Read this: it beat Ferrari, Porsche, Aston, Ascari…etc…etc…..not to mention the fact that this was from a small shop on a small budget. That should tell you the level of racer that it is.
But, in the world of racing the numbers rule. The best qualifying time for the 2007 GT1 race at Silverstone was put down by the PK C6R (ie: former Le Mans winning GT1 C6R) was 1.43.00. The winning pole for the GT3 Corvette was 1.54.00. That is 11 seconds off for a stock framed, sealed (stock) Z06 engine. The chassis modifications are many and very very effective. I think your C3 is beautiful, but I think with $$$$$$ you might come close, but the Z06R is being limited by the FIA to be “equal” with the other racers in the series, such that it has much-much more to give.
How do I know these things?....I know the guy who builds them…
At the 2007 Swiss Corvette Club annual Euromeet at Hokenhiem, there were 2 GT3’s..you could have rubbed fenders with. I suspect that might happen again. I would love to see you there.

A coupple of friends and I went down to the FIA GT season finale at Zolder Belgium. We were lucky to get into the Pit Box of C6 GT3 driven by Antony Kumpen. wery nice package, took lots of pictures of it. He was leading, but unfortunately he broke the front spinde ()I believe. The spec you list is similar to some C3's i know. With the exeption of a modern chassis and aerodynamics. A C3 can weigh 150kg less and have easily 250 hp more. If it hadn't been for the FIA regulations a ANY C3would probably have a snowball's chance in hell against the C6 GT3. It's the David agains Goliat thing I guess. Nothing is impossible, but it might take a while. I think that we are pretty much on the same wave here, and rubbing fenders with one of those would be a life time experience. By the way take the restrictor off a GT1 an you will see more than a 11 sec difference.

I knew Steve Goldin's Greenwood Daytona (blue/green)was running an xtrctor type.
I don't think DeLorenzo's (green/green) originally ran that hood/extractor setup. It's running an aluminum Donovan BB now at Mike Mulcahy's.
Both great cars.

Don't hang me out on this one I'm working from memory. C6R at ALMS was running in the 1:15 to 1:18 range, a few of the C3's pictured so far are about as fast as you are going to find anywhere, they not going to get within 10 seconds of that time.

EDIT: ALMS MidOhio was running in the 1;15 TO 1:18 range,
