I know, it has been done many times before, just wanted to document the lower cost for parts.

Rock Auto C5 Rotors = $50 shipped ($20.99 each)
14x2 mm Bolts (Dominic) = $10.00
C5 Calipers, brackets & PAds = $190 shipped

Conversion brackets made by me = $0 See JeffVette for brackets you can buy

Since these are NOT Z06 Calipers, I have to paint them the color of my choice

Fun!

The color I got them. Joe
Thanks Joe! Very nice work!

Did you use a brush or aerosol?

Looks great and I plan on doing the same color theme, I "MIGHT" try to use a small roller and paint the letters white,, we'll see how brave I get!

I'll check out the Caliper paint I saw at Autozone,,, I have used their 1200 degree engine paint with great success

Yep, the hobby knives with a bunch of blades.

I might test/try a small roller and see if I can roll some white on the letters, we'll see how much patience I have this weekend

Progress, painted them w/ RED & Black caliper paint and left the lettering silver, then clear coated w/1200-degree clear,, painted the retro-brackets too

Thanks:thumbsup:

I knocked off your color scheme!

I considered painting the letters white, but I got lazy.

Gonna bolt them on today!

Are there any clearance issues with the heat shields?

OK, I did trim my shield with tin snips, very very simple,,,

and I had to buy a quantity of 4,,,,, 14mm x 2mm x 40mm length hex bolts and I used the exsisting washer from the 1985 Caliper mount bolts,,, to mount the NEW C5 caliper to the machined bracket

Nice work. :partyon:

Did you replace your old and probably ballooning brake lines at the same time? Do you have any plans to replace there rear clothes-pin calipers and convert the parking brake? I've been saying I'd do this on my '87 for yeeeears and never have. :(
I replaced all of the Brake Lines when I did the Coilover mod back in May, see sig, I also put Speedbleeders on all Calipers too.

I will have to study the rear Caliper retrofit, they look hoaky now that I have the C5 brakes on the front.

Got the 97-04 calipers from a C5 forum, but you can pick them up new or used easily.

Rock Auto rotor #'s are 397-56701 & 397-56700, left and right are required.

I can email you a print for the mount bracket and you can make it or you can buy them too from JeffVette as noted on the first post.

Here is a set new.

Well,I cant explain it but there is no PM< from me in my SENT box either, so you are not going crazy, maybe I am losing it.

Anyway, I sent you a print, the early bracket is the easiest bracket to make, just use Cold Rolled Steel, CRS,,,,,,,,,, 9-mm is .354" thick so you can machine down a piece of 3/8" thick easily.
