Ok Vetters. I just have to let you know what I saw the other day. So I'm taking my wife to get some icecream. When what do I see? A blue well used MIATA next to me giving me the thumbs up. So I wave and say thanks. The the light turns green and he takes off as fast as one can in a well used MIATA. Then I notice..... He has C5 logos and decals on the car. In the same locations a Vette would. I was puzzled. So i said to my wife did you see that. She said yea a ricer said hi. I said yea but a Ricer with Vette decals on it. She laughed and said ok "Corvette taste Miata budget", You gotta start somewhere. I wish I could have got a snap-shot of it.

Apparently that's a trend with some crowds. They will take the emblems off of the cars they win against and display them as trophies. It's also possible the person has an LS1 under the hood of the car (I've seen reports of people doing that). Or, the person could simply be a dipshit.
Go with the Dipshit theory :thud:
Well going by the Ducktape holding the convertable top on and the walmart hubcap spinners, It may not have and LS1. But I have seen Miatas with the 5.0 in them, the real 5.0
That's worse than the Cobalt SS that I saw with the C6 emblem in the front bumber. The sad part is that he put it in a place where part of the emblem was just sticking out in the air! :rolling:
You can't fault the guys for have champagne tastes with a beer budget. They seem to be proudly displaying their dreams.
Heck, he waved... I can't get some Vette owners to do even that.

And after One Lap of America I can fully appreciate not knowing what next car is going to have a Corvette engine under the hood.
I've seen a video of a Miata with a LS1 engine in it. It would move, I'll say that! But it didn't have any Corvette emblems on it, but he did like taking on Corvettes and surprising the heck out of them!
I like the dipshit theory.

There's one driving around my town with a C5 emblem on it. I rev my engine and flick him off every chance I get. It just pisses me off.

In fact, I was a Tahoe with all kinds of vinyl crap on it and a C6 emblem on the back.
I just remembered of the Silverado with C5 emblems all over it... I guess they think that because they have a chevy then can put those on?

okay so what do you call a guy with a corvette that puts on the prancing horse all over the car? :smack

Well I'm GM all the way. But I would never put the flags on my Z71. Anyway he did wave to me, like others said some Vetters don't wave. Hope he has the chance to move into a Vette someday.
You MUST have heard of "MONSTER MIATA". www.monstermiata.com

They turn a very stock looking any year Miata into a street sleeper of the first order. Some are 5.0 Fords and some LS1's, some are also turbo'd or supercharged. You cannot tell the car is modified externally unless it has some bigger rubber. Their website used to have a vid of one up against a C5 at Laguna Seca, I believe. The Vette had its hands full till the Miata spun. Nearly a 50/50 wt bias and a big hole to park the motor in and 2200#. The kit cost $4500and it looked like a great winter project. You can have them build it starting with any year Miata for @ $16k.
