OK, I have had quite a few combinations.

On my 2005 C6 Vert A4/3.15 I had B&B BUllets for a month, but the drone was too rough for my wife.
I switched to a Magnaflow #15884 system, no drone, but it does not EXCITE me either. Since I primarily let my 68 year old father drive that car it is not a problem.

On my 2006 C6 Coupe manual tranny I had Corsa Sports #14169 with AR Headers, I liked it alot, but I am not doing headers on my new car.

On my 2007 C6 Coupe A6 tranny I also had Corsa Sports #14169, no drone with the automatic, nice sound, but a little too quiet for me.

NOW, on my current 2006 C6 Vert manual tranny I have swapped on the Corsa Sports #14169 once again.
Yes, they sound GREAT, but a little too quiet. If they were louder it would be a no-brainer.

I have had very limited seat time in a manual tranny car with GHLs and I recall they sounded nice, an automatic A4 car with GHLs (didn't like them), and a manuall car with Bullets (the guy I sold mine to) and I liked it alot, but I am afraid of the drone.

Here are some criteria to add in to your reviews:

1- I want an exhaust that with the radio on I can still hear the exhaust easily when accerating normally.

**With the Corsa Sports I have to turn the radio off to enjoy them**

2- I want a Throaty sounding exhaust, that grrrrrr sound on acceleration, not just a deep hum. Many C6 exhausts are just too BASSY, I want some of that Corsa type gurgling type sound to go with it.

3- I want an exhaust that when cruising at a steady 55-70mph still is audible inside the car, the Corsa Sports and Magnaflows are practically silent.

4- At WOT, I don't really car if the car is not as loud as others, I am more intersted in part throttle and cruising sound, where I am at 99% of the time.

5- Oh yea, I want a loud idle. I want to hear that catback chatting away while sitting at a light.

6- I am more interested in hearing from manual tranny owners, but please post even if you have the A4 or A6 auto tranny, I still have one of those.

Right now I tend to be leaning towards these choices:

1- GHL (are they loud enough?)
2- Borla Stingers (will they drone too much?)
3- Corsa Extreme (unproven as of yet)
4- Flowmaster (The pricetag makes a mistake liveable)
5- B&B Bullets (Do I dare? I have to take a 7 hour roadtrip this summer)
6 -Sticking with the Corsa Sports (They sound great, just not quite loud enough.

Thanks in adavance for your help.

IF ANYBODY IS IN THE BUCKS COUNTY OR PHILLY AREA AND HAS A CATBACK THEY WOULD LIKE TO LET ME HEAR, PLEASE PM ME

Tell ya what... I have a nice big box sitting in my garage right now with a Borla Stinger Cat-Back in it, I'm installing it on my '07 C6 (MN6) this coming Thursday (first opportunity to get my car up on a lift) I will send you a PM Thursday night and let you know my thoughts

No brainer, option #5 all the way. I used this:

http://www.b-quiet.com/ultimate.html

in the rear comparment, it cut down on the drone about 60%. Also, use the B&B crossover pipe, that cleans the sound up a bit as well.

and since you have a M6 like I do, just keep your rpms out of the 1500-1700 range while cruising, and you'll have 0 drone.

I'm in south jersey, your more than welcome to scoot over and have a listen if you like.

I look forward to hearing what you think?

One major difference is you have a coupe, I have a Vert.
It doesn't give me alot of space for the sound dampening material.

I still might take you up on your offer.

It has been since last summer when I drove the guy's car with the Bullets.

He actually lives near me, so I might give him a call also.

I really wish the Corsa Sports were a bit louder.

I don't know what kind of timetable you are on, but the Corsa Extremes are coming out in the next few weeks. In fact you can already special order them from Mid America. The description says that they are like sports only louder.

Here's an update... I installed my K&N Aircharger today, and it made the whole car sound a lot more vette-like... a nice rumble out the back and throatier idle, no drone. I'll let you know on thursday what the Cat-Back sounds like

I will stay tuned for soem reviews on the Extreme.

From initial reviews, I hear they are not much louder than the Sports, just deeper.

AFAMack07 -

I had the K&N aircharger on my 2006 C6 coupe, it performed very well.

Did you notice any improved fuel mileage with your K&N?

Improved fuel mileage?
 :rolling: :D

Not really.

The only thing I notice is, when I loend the car to my father he gets 15.8mpg in mostly city driving.

When I drive it is always in the 13s.

No matter what kind of car I drive, I only get 13s.

Even when I had my 350z I never got better than 18 and I think 16s were the norm.
Too much downshifting and slight pressure on the accelerator to get that shove in the seat I guess.;)

Thanks.

I actually considered the Magnapacks, I had them on Mustang before and they sounded GREAT, but on the C6 I don't want to change my midpipe if I don't have to.

The Magnapacks require that and they only have single tips, I definitely want dual tips.

I'd love to hear a clip though.

I've actually decided to try the Borla Aggresive #11477 (Stingers).
I just got back from a long cruise, still trying to decide if the Corsa Sports are for me.

Then it hit me, if after all these drives I am still not sure, then obviously I don't LOVE them. They are very liveable, but they don't EXCITE me.
After I got my B&B Bullets I did the same thing.
I would drive around for hours trying to decide if I liked them or hated them. Trying to decide if I could tolerate the drone or not. Obviously, if you are not sure, they are not the right ones.

IF I do the Borlas and the same thing happens, I'll try another exhaust until I am satisfied.

I am trying to get in contact with a guy from Texas with Borla Stingers who wants Corsa Sports, that would be a great even swap.

I want to keep the 4-tip stock type configuration.

I also don't want to do a midpipe, so that rules them out.

They are a great sounding exhaust though.

Howard,

Have not talked to you since you were trading in you M6 for an A6. Now I see you are back to the M6, what happened, did you miss shifting? I have to tell you the longer I own this car with the M6 the happier I am. Though I do think I will upgrade the shifter, most likely the Callaway for a shorter throw.

By the way I am running B&B Rte 66 a good compromise from the bullets, but they do have a little drone in the 1900 RPM range, though I also have ARH's with them. I just think you can not beat the fit and finish of the B&B product, they really compliment the car. When I purchased the cat back for me it was a toss up between Corsa and the Rte 66. It came down to the fact that I did not like the logo on the Corsa tips. Sounds petty but the B&B just looked nicer on the car, and I can easily shift around the small amount of drone.

Take Care,

Gary

Gary,

I just had to have another Vert, and the one I was looking at just so happened to be a manual tranny.
I do love driving a manual tranny.

I just ordered the Borla Stingers #11744 with the quad round tips:thumbsup:

They should be here and installed by Friday or Saturday.

Congrats on the decision and good luck.

Howard,

So in hind sight what did you think of the A6? Would you opt for one over a M6 if you had the choice.

Down the road in a couple years I may go for the C7, and I think I will take another look at the A6 trans. Right now I am enjoying the M6 quite a bit.

Congrats on the catback that is a nice system, hope you like it.
