There is an old country store in Horatio, that's a wide spot in the road just a little off 378 between Columbia and Sumter, called Lenoir Store. It dates back to the 1700's and has been in the same family at the same location. It's not fancy, it doesn't have much, but it's so neat to see.

They have items in the store that are 70 years old, and everything is for sale. It's the local country store/post office and looks like it did years ago. WLTX did a story on it last year. (http://www.wltx.com/news/storySpecial.aspx?storyid=32568).

Then, there is another place just outside of Camden called Boykin Mill. (http://www.camden-sc.org/boykin.php) It has a few shops and a café that has some great food. It too is just a wide spot in the road, one of those places that you have to know about or you'd drive right by it.

It's not a long trip, probably 2 - 4 hours and less than 100 miles. We may also stop at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park also if we want. http://www.historic-camden.net/ it's on the way.

I really don't know how the store stays open, it's a landmark, but it is in the middle of no where. You'll love going there. They have photos of Presidents who they have met!

Come join us at 10:00 a.m. at the Sears parking lot across from Wal-Mart on Garners Ferry Road (378).
