I am about to change the antifreeze in y 01 coupe and wondered if there was a vent plug that has to be removed or opened to allow the air to escape from the block as you pour the antifreeze into the system.
A member of this site sent me a description of what to do but it doesn't mention any type of plug or valve that will allow the air to vent from the block as you pour in the new antifreeze when the thermostat is closed.
I hope someone out there can help with this issue.

There is no plug to open, you'll want to fill the surge tank until it reaches the base of the neck. Then run the motor at idle for a minute then cycle the rpms from idle to 3000 in 30 second intervals until the temp reaches 210 degrees. Then turn off the car and carefully open the surge tank. Turn the motor back on and idle for a minute then fill the tank above the cold full mark. Then turn off the motor and cap the surge tank. Restart and let it idle and cycle again. Top off the surge tank as needed. Good luck.
