For those of you who don't really care for the color of the crossed flags, here's a solution:

using 1/8" acrylic, i painted the reverse image on the backside using a scotch tape stencil.

here are the finished flags:

installed:

i will have to clean up around the emblem but the idea works quite well and since the paint is on the back, it won't flake off.

well, there wasn't much to do to clean up what i had....so i bought new emblems and had the flags professionaly made:

the end result is so much cleaner:
