I have some clearcoat flaked off of my bumper was wondering how much sanding is involved and if basecoat clearcoat can be re- applied over old basecoat clearcoat or if clearcoat has to be completely stripped? Confused yet? :laughing:

Hmm... for clearcoat to be flaking off indicates a serious adhesion issue. Is it localized? all over the car?mytoy74 said:
For fear of repeating the problem, I would not clear over the original paint again. I'd go all the way down, re-primer/seal - then paint basecoat/clearcoat.
