Clutch Problem

My 92 wouldn't go into gear yesterday, so I figured it had a bad clutch master cylinder. I towed it to the dealer since I don't have a mechanic. They called me this morning and said it had a bad master and slave and it would be $1600. I looked up the parts and they were about $200 for both. How can the labor be so much?

Find out exactly what they are doing./replacing. Master cylinder from the Dealer is $250~ slave is close to $200 as well I would guess.

get all the info from them you can. if you are mechanically inclined you could do it yourself
