Humm, not a lot to report.I don't c5 manuals, but the code reads...DTC C1296...Master cylinder sensor circuit open or shorted...I guess i would check the fuses and check the wiring connector at the master cylinder...

Well let's add this then... A previous post will give you a feel for what components are involved:

Anyone that can provide a Service Manual flow chart will save the day...

For a C1296 one of the following conditions exists:

- brake fluid pressure sensor signal is greater than 4.9 volts for 2 minutes.
- brake fluid pressure sensor signal is less than 0.14 volts for 0.1 seconds.

When the DTC Sets...

- EBCM disables the VSES for the duration of the ignition cycle.
- The Traction Control and Active Handling indicator turns ON.
- The DIC displays the Service Active Handling message.
- The ABS/TCS remains functional.

To replace BFPS...

- Drain the cooling system.
- Disconnect and remove the radiator inlet hose.
- Loosen the two retaining nuts and carefully reposition the EBCM to access the brake pressure sensor.
- Disconnect the brake pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the brake pressure sensor from the vehicle.

When replacing, tighten the pressure switch to 16 ft. lbs.

I finally had some time to read up on it and I appreciate the replies, the info was excellent. Now I just need to make the time to check it out.I called my local dealer for the pressure switch just in case but he says it is no longer avail seperate you must purchase the whole assembly.Anyway I will update as soon as I can. Thanks again jim
