Can the color choice be changed once a Corvette is ordered? If so how is it done and how long after the order is placed?
Have you talked to your dealer about it? There are a lot of ways they could handle it for you, like order a second car and keep that one for inventory, etc. Because at some point after you place that order, it's tooooo late to change the order. There are more things that the dealer can do to remedy this than GM.

Thanks Patrick. I haven’t actually talked to anyone at the dealer yet but I did leave a voice mail for the salesman asking him to change the color if it can still be done. He will be in the office tomorrow so I’m sure he will contact me when he gets in. I ordered a Victory Red convertible but agonized over it for a few days, prior to placing the order, because I wasn’t sure if I should get a stealth color like silver, or a bright color that stood out and attracted “ticket getting” attention. Yellow has been one of my favorite colors but it is also the most noticeable color so I stayed away from yellow. But the more I thought about it the more I realized that I only drive aggressively in our back country twisties, not on the freeway or surface streets, so the bright yellow won’t really matter there.

As for having the dealer order another car for me, I wouldn’t want them to do that just for a color change. I don’t want them to end up with another car in stock because I changed my mind….. but then again they will make about $150 dollars more if I buy a yellow one. Red or yellow are both good colors so if the change doesn’t happen then a red car is what I will end up with. I can think of much worse problems to have in life.

if you give me your order #, I can check when I get to the office....don't post it, email me
[email protected]

depends where the status is, if it is pulled, then NO change....at the same token of helping with this info, I may be also to help price wise....we are always flexible too!;) :D

THE GAMES ARE ALREADY BEGINNING. Spoke with a guy yesterday that was told 3 weeks ago, his 4LT car woudl be in sometime in August....
NO WAY, these are the things we tak about in providing the right information, good or bad. I want the business too, but am not going to tell you one thing simply to get a deposit....my goodness, I don't need the practice in writing an order...I want to write orders I know I can get for you folks...and offer you a realistic timeframe.

Thanks for the support everyone - hopinig to do business with you soon!

I'll look for your email in a bit!

Thanks for the offer Rick, but the car is going to be red. The dealer called this afternoon and said the car is already scheduled to be built on 7-23-07. Yellow would have been nice but red is certainly ok too. It looks like this car will just be a new updated version (a very updated version!) of my old red 1966 Corvette. I used to call the 66 Vette my "half day car" because after driving it for half a day I was tired of it. Old Corvettes are nice but mine was like a knock-out-gorgeous girlfriend that was dumb as a rock. Everyone liked to look at her, and she was fun for a few hours, but then I was tired of her and didn't want to see her for a while. Thanks again.

It looks like I’m getting a color change after all. The dealer informed me they accidentally erred on the car I ordered (they forgot to add Z51 performance suspension) so I could either order another one or take the one that comes in without the Z51. They also said, since they will have to place a new order, I could change the color and options to anything I wanted, and that is exactly what I did yesterday. So, there is soon going to be a Red, base model, 2008, Convertible, 6 speed, car, w/ a Black Top & Tan interior, available in the San Diego area. MSRP will be $54335.00 and I know they will discount that at least a few thousand dollars, so someone is looking at a new 2008 convertible in the $51000.00 range. If it wasn’t for the color change I would take that car and just add my own say bars and shocks, and for a lot less than the cost of the Z51. Oh well, someone is going to get that new 2008 Convertible at a great price, and long before I get mine. But I did get the color change. :)
