8 months of the same problem. Mulitple trips to different dealers not counting my own Mercedes service department. About 8 months ago while driving my check engine light came on (constant light, not flashing). Checked codes and found misfire codes for #2 cylinder/coil. Put new coil and wire on to spark plug and problem happened the next day again. Same codes for misfiring present so moved coil to another cylinder to see if misfire would follow and it did not. Replaced injector on # 2 cylinder and problem would reoccur again with same misfire codes. Then replace all spark plugs and occurred again with same misfire codes. Dealer replace ECM and within a week same problem again. Checked for any eveidence of battery leakage on to control module wiring and found it perfectly clean. Replaced small wiring harness for ignition coils on that bank and problem happened again 2 days later. Compression test shows all cylinders to be good. Used boroscope from my shop to look into cylinders for carbon build up and found no excessive carbon however ran decarbon through intake and although I noted a smoother idle than I had before and some better performance the check engine light came on again with misfires on #2. During this 8 month period the #3 cylinder started to miss also and I found the plug fouled/soaked with fuel and that is when I replace the plugs mentioned previously and # 3 has been fine since that time. The problem centers on the #2 cylinder and always has. The car stays parked in my garage now and I drive the Benz when I would rather drive the Vette. Any ideas out there???
