Cross Country Road Trip!

Hey all,

I started off in Annapolis, Maryland headed for Idaho Falls, Idaho... What a great day. I started off around 9:15 in the morning and didn't stop (except once for a nap) until it got dark. I ended up in Champaign, Illinois for a total of almost exactly 750 miles. The total trip length is about 2200 miles, and I had planned on taking 3 days, so I'm right on schedule!

Some stuff I did beforehand...

New tires... (the originals would have made it, but just barely--better safe than sorry). I ended up getting Toyo Proxes T1R's in factory Z06 sizes from our very own TD4L.com!! Thanks a ton!

Alignment... the rear was OK, but the front was wearing heavily on the inside.

Bought some extra quarts of oil and topped off the fluids... My car is an oil burner, but not to any great extent, figure better safe than sorry. It was filled to the full line on the dipstick before I left, I'll check level again before I leave tomorrow morning.

Some stats thus far (From door to door, including stops):

Average speed of 66.7 mph
Average mpg of 27.3
Total time of 11 hours, 16 minutes
distance traveled: 750 miles
Illinois is reeeeeaally flat

I'll tally up gas costs when I get to Idaho, but so far, mileage has been great.

Pics to come when I get there!

Stayed at the Sleep Inn off exit 184 from Interstate 74... On my way out the door!

So it's been a long day... I ended up going to Colorado Springs to meet up with a few friends of mine, and covered 1100 miles in the mean time. So after 15 hours on the road I got say congratulations to the recently graduated Air Force cadets and remind them that Navy has beaten them the last 4 years in football... Long day, but here it is...

Average speed of 71.2 mph
average mpg of 25.5 (I think the altitude is killing me...)
Distace travelled: 1100
Time on the roiad: 14:50

The averages are since I left Annapolis... ugh... Iowa sucked, but at leat Nebraska had the courtesy to raise te speed limit to 75...

Until tomorrow... Save the wave!
Sounds like a blast, can't wait to see some pics.
