The hood will work just fine. The vents in the hood won't be functional but that doesn't matter anyway as the newer hoods don't have them. There might be a little cutting for the airbox but nothing big. Be sure to grab all the sensors off the motor too.

they also moved the power steering reservoir, hoses are different,

If it's a parts car look on the front side of the TPI car-- right around the front side marker lights and the top ridge of front bumper. you'll see hood adjusters, Snag them. It makes aligning the hood sooo much easier.

The smog equipment is all different also. same pump but the air handler stuff on the fron of the engine is different.

you'll need the air box in front of the radiator and the air dam portion. the cross fire won't fit the air filter housing. and the top of the air dam won't match an 84

double check the exhaust manifolds-- I think there is something different about them-- but not sure of that.. seem to remember a variance on the EGR hook up??? again not sure of this.

you'll also need the back spport brackets for the AC, Smog pump and alternator. They are diff between CF and TPI.

More to think of after coffee..

sure heres ONE, but its a bit deceptive, a decent single plane intake with the correct throttle body and injectors can EASILY support 500 hp in a 383 sbc when matched to decent heads and cam ETC. obviously youll need a manual transmission or higher stall speed converter and a 3.54-3.73 rear gear ratio to take full advantage of the power band

heres the intake I used with 36 lb injectors, a crane 119651 roller cam and extensively ported 195cc trickflow heads on my vette.

heres the small base computer controlled distributor I selected for use with my custom ported EFI intake

HERE what DD2000 guessed at it really made just a bit less near 470hp
