I think it's a real shame for the wealthy to have to create jobs to cover for a 3% tax hike ...

I might have known you would get a kick out of seeing retirees who had worked all of their lives to have a little security in retirement see the government confiscate their nestegg. Retirees depend on that interest and dividends to keep their nestegg from shrinking so much that it runs out before they do. Many are widows who's husbands worked hard to leave them prepared to live out their lives financially secure. You Dems really have a heart.

You can thank Obamas' Dems *Sense of Congress* for stimulating the stock market back in Jan.-Mar. 2009 from 6,400 to todays 10,000 (DOW) ... the only thing that saved grandma & grandpa from eating catfood after living high on the hog followed by Bushs' Great Depression ...

Only a Dem would think it was a good thing to grow retirees
equity for the sole purpose of confiscating the gain. Well done, party of the heartless. When Bernie Madoff wiped out the widows nesteggs, he was reviled and sent to prison. When the Dems do the same thing, they cheer on their leaders and scream for more because it is someone else's money being confiscated. The general public is slowly but surely beginning to understand.

Your buddy didn't have anything to do with it; 6 400 was over reaction.

You could have put a clown at that desk, it would still have gone up.

The difference between an idiot and smart dude will be seen if it goes up or not.

um....

How much do fund managers make?

Retirees survived the Clinton Era taxes just fine.....

The subject is wealthy investors...

Like............ the ones that get a mansion and 5 mill investment startup funds from dad for their 18th birthday.
The ones that dont work for a living.

Do you know any wealthy families that have multiple generations that............... never........... worked for a living?

Just curious...

Honest question....

Yes, he did an awesome job getting it back to levels from the 90's.

You gotta keep in mind, that today's leftist are of the same thought process as Hugo Chavez. People don't deserve to have a better life, just because they worked harder.

If your buddy was so good, unemployment would be down, this is the US. Right now unemployment is sticking around like it sticks around in Europe, a continent filled with hot air incompetent liberal governments.

Liberal governments who increased the length of a school year to improve the education level and where all should get a degree, whereas in fact the level went down (Francois Mitterrand credo in the 80s when he got elected was to make the school year longer and pay teachers more to make for smarter kids).

I know several very wealthy families with multiple generations, and every one of them works their ass of from the time they are kids. I realize that's not true in every case, but the rich people I know started their kids young by making them work for everything they got, and they took that work ethic into adulthood. You can't generalized either way about rich kids. Some are worthless and some are hard working responsible people - the same as any other economic group.

My family and I are not wealthy. Middle-middle class would be more like it, and that's because my father worked his ass off all his life. He raised 5 kids, lost one and couldn't afford to put us in college except for my sister who was the youngest. I put myself through school. When I was young instead of giving me an allowance my dad told me to rake leaves, cut lawns, shovel snow for money. I got a paper route and made more money than any of my friends on allowances. I learn about work ethics, not entitlement services.

Because I went to school I made a better living and paid more taxes throughout my life than those that didn't. So, I supported more income redistribution that most. In my investments I took a portion of what I earned after taxes and put that away so I didn't have to rely on entitlement services when I could no longer work, or become a burden on my children.

I am not unique but typical in this regard. It's the left that wants to grab what little I have left after working to fund thier entitlements that are crying a river.

How about they figure out how to make those programs pay for themselves? Or if they want to fund them, go ahead and fund them! Write the biggest checks they can afford and send it to them. Even better, do it on a voluntary basis. This way they will feel really good about themselves, and trhere is no limit to the size of the checks they can write.

You think Michael Moore can afford a little less food and donate more of his ill-gotten fortune to those he supposedly 'cares about?'

Not a sidestep, but a personal example of one directly involved.

That's because the left wants to fund their endless stream of ideas with OPM - Other People's Money. I'm with you. If these guys are so generous, how come they have so much money left after forcing everyone else to cough up what little they have to fund their ideas?

My 'ol man was 1st generation American from Mexican parents who immigrated here legally and before illegal Mexican immigration became stylish.

Graduated from CSUSLO as a mechanical engineer (HVAC & Plumbing ... eventually designing the HVAC & plumbing of every California State Prison), started with nothing, then went on to become a consulting M.E. and the kind of wealthy and famous that most of the worlds men can only dream of ... he hated taxes so naturally he was a republican and assumed every loophole both legal and illegal.

After time went on he got involved in all sorts of shady business & deals both private and govt. ... this was all acceptable back then ... then retired a wealthy man ...

My point you ask ?

Damned if he wasn't a damn Mexican neocon ...

Exactly. The reason the powerful left wants these ponzi schemes funded is because they stand to gain substantially from them because they are heavily invested in them in the first place.

Al Gore, George Soros, the Clintons, Michael Moore, Obama (CCX), Van Jones (CCX)...

These guys see an opportuninty to enrich themselves, then use thier influence to peddle legislation to ensure thier wealth using benefits to the poor as the platform, and blame conservatives for this same strategy.

The failure of this policy can seen in every slum and depressed inner city in America. They've been in charge and running the ponzi schemes in these areas for over 100 years in some cases. In all cases they are supposed to be helping these areas. Why then has nothing changed except for the worse in these areas? They need to keep these places like they are to keep the ponzi scheme alive. They keep the poor destitute while they funnel just enough money to make it look like the programs are active, while they siphon off the profits to themselves and their interests.

Now they want to put this same model to work for the entire economy. We can see what trickle up poverty has done to the economy so far, and most Americans don't want it anymore.
