Gary (or anyone else for that matter)-
I was working my newer vette yesterday and the shop manual says that after a fluid change to log 300 miles before WOT. Why if the gears aren't changed?
This got me to wondering, besides changing fluid what else should I do to maintain a diffy in general or specifically for C3s.
Periodic inspection- what to look for or measure, stub end play, pinion turning resistance?
Fluid change - how often and does it need to be "broken in" as on the C6?
I have your guide for seal replacement so that's obvious but what am I not seeing or do I just wait until it's shrapnel salad then start over?
I'm mechanically inclined but self taught so until it breaks i'm not sure what is being overlooked that isn't listed in the shop manual.
