I had a 99 C5 that I loved.. a truly amazing car....then I drove a buddy's Z06...

Traded in the 99 for a Z shortly after and even though the 99 C5 was a blast. I have to say I enjoy the Z that much more. A little more focus.

GM did a nice job.

be prepared to buy a Z06 if you drive one especially since its preowned pricing keeps dropping to very attractive levels.

GM really did a great job with this car.

Yup, isn't it a kick. Drove mine for the last few days but I think those days are nearing an end. Snow in the forecast in the next few days. :(

GM did a great job.

Excellent examples run between 31 and 36 grand...

A buddy of mine with an electron blue 2002 with special interior...etc..has his for 36.5...

Its immaculate and if I didnt already have a Z06..I'd be buying his..

He hurt his back and needs an automatic...

Cars in Detroit and this gentlemen is the NCM ambassador!

I am sure as time goes by and you save your money...as the prices come down further..

You will make your dream come true..

I truly believe Corvettes are among the best cars to buy preowned...

Where else do owners care for their cars in such a manner?

Good luck.

Theres always the guys who abuse their cars..

yet for the most part...Corvettes are taken care of to a degree that surpasses most other brands..

and in my opinion..corvettes are so capable..they are built to be driven right on the edge..

These cars take a licking and keep on ticking!

Catch the right owner and the corvette is amazing

I drove a 385HP Z06, never a 405HP car, but...

for those of you who didn't read my post this past saturday, I nuked my 97 coupe's engine, and I'm replacing it with a 405HP Z06 (LS6) crate engine from GM. I'm placing the order tomorrow. With the exhaust, blackwing, and dyno tune with LS1Edit, I'm expecting 400 RWHP when I'm done...

I'm keeping a video chronicle of the whole engine swap. I'll let you all know when it's finished and posted to the web.

The Z's are great cars.
I'm an import guy, I tend to favour BMW's, Acura's etc.

I made the fatal mistake of test-driving a Z06 out of curiosity.

Traded in my 6 month old BMW E46 M3 for my current Z06 1 week later.
Even though the fit and finish didn't compare to my Z, the M just didn't have that brutal acceleration the Z does.
To this day, and 40+ runs at the drag's later, it still brings a :D to my face when I open her up!

Great job GM! :partyon:
