PM sentWho sells those cutouts?
Well so far I have noticed that when they are closed I do not hear anything suggesting a leak. One time, just to see what would happen, I didn't close them all the way an barely had the flaps open at all and all I noticed was the exhaust was a tad louder than the stingers. It didn't have any annoying tick that normally accompanies exhaust leaks and I'm guessing it's because of a few things....One being that it's a butterfly valve and not a hole can make a difference in the sound and also the fact that I have turndowns which also may contribute to eliminating any ticking exhaust noise. So far I'm completely happy with them and even if they do fail I have a year warranty on the valve and 2 years on the motor. If they fail after that then I'll just replace them because these weren't all that expansive at all....OK, I'm sold! I've had my cat-back off for a couple of weeks now (getting a repair done on one of the tips) and I gotta be honest, driving with open pipes has been a lot of fun![]()
But, I know if I left it this way, eventually a member of the local law enforcement's not gonna be so impressed, so the idea of having this sound 'on demand' has me really interested. My only hesitation is, how well does the butterfly seal when closed? I don't want to end up dealing with a click-click-click of an exhaust leak when they're closed. I know these are new on your car, so you have no long term assessment, but can you give us an idea how tightly they seal up?
Sounds cool !
I'm thinking about cutouts too. With my cam it should sound cool.
How is the inside resonance with them open ?
Toque
Thats what I thought....HaHa, as you know I didn't do this for all around comfort on long trips or anything. Let me put it this way...at 2100 RPM's you head feels like it's going to explode. Sometimes the car will backfire after hard acceleration and it can feel like someone is kicking you in your back...But I love the sound it makes and I enjoy the ability to pick what sound level I want...
