Recently I have noticed that when I start my 88 vette the red light beside
oil preasure geauge turns on and turns off after the car is started.
At one point I even noticed blue spoke from the exhaust
sytem, however it was only at start up and only for few seconds.....
The gauage shows 10-19 before it starts and than when driving goes to 350-450 which is usall....
does any one have any idea what this sympthon might be?

Usually this is caused by oil seeping on to the top of the piston, your valve guides might be worn enough to allow this after the engine has shut down.

Valves....the whole head job ahead of me???!

I would check your compression on each cylinder first to verify its not rings, you can do this by doing them one at a time, but most likely its a valve job
which isn't too bad compared to a complete over haul. You can take your heads off and bring them to a "trusted" head place or at GM, a little pricey but remember you usually get what you pay for. With a dealer doing it they might want to talk you in to something else, but you know they will be done correctly and they probably will magna-flux the heads to make sure you don't have a crack in the head anywhere.
