Likely not available post '73 or '74 due to cat requirements (i.e. smog crap). If you are in an area that does smog certifications you probably can't run them.

I know lots of guys have them in areas where they don't have to do emissions testing.

yeah here if its past 92 they dont check for that so will the side pipes for the 74 fit the 79?

Probably. The cars are essentially the same and the wheelbase did not change.

yes, no problem !!!

Do your homework before you buy mufflers: Hooker Maxflow mufflers are a little loud but not restrictive, $150 a pair. SweetThunder mufflers are pretty good too, $170 shipped, available in 2", 2.25" and 2.5"
Hooker reverse flow mufflers are quiet but very restrictive, Hooker glasspacks are not as loud as the Maxflows but still a little restrictive. JCL baffles are the most expensive mufflers but not too loud and free flowing.....

Paragon makes them for later years. I don't know if they are available black.

Absolutely, Summit sells Black Hooker sidepipe headers, muffler inserts, and sidepipes. I found they have the best prices on them and great service. I've bought from them several times and have been please with my buying experiences there.
awesome thanks for all your help guys
I'll have a set of black ones that are Thermo-Tec wrapped for sale someday. I have a set of Jet-Hot Sterlings with STS baffles to install. But they're for a BB with 2 1/8 primaries. Like lookin' into the Grand Canyon. You could HIDE a 350 in there.

sorry for the hijack BTW

Jet-Hot (IMHO) any color is gonna' be your best bet. Someone has got to have a set on a '79.

I just like the look of black. Im redoing all of the interior black and plan to put black out wheels on it so the black pipes will go right along with it
