Nothing so far, the federal government is fighting at every turn to keep the borders open, the drugs flowing, the heads rolling, the cops shackled and the voters stymied.

The more I look at everything between Peru and here, the more I see our corps there. Big oil, gas, mining, ethanol, rubber, manufacturing, space exploration, ...ect
We get most our precious metals from mexico and south american countries.
Lots of American ownerships and part ownerships.

The rabbit hole gets deeper every time I look.

The left wants the illegals, for their open border "utopia" dream. The center feels that the illegals are just trying to earn a living. The right feels the illegals are costing overtaxedpayers a lot of money.

The left don't want them legal, because they are generally a conservative lot, and would probably work against the left in the next few years. That's why Obama has been stonewalled on his immigration agenda.

The center don't mind letting them become legal. The more people paying into the system, the better.

The right don't mind some form of orderly process as long as there are fines, and border is closed.

We are screwed, the illegals are screwed. :huh:

Afghanistan was found to have maybe the next largest mineral deposits in the world, but supposedly, we are not interested and will pull out in 2011.
If industry and mining are why we wont **** on mexico...(if we own half of it's resource rights).....(er.....when I say we.....I mean, corps)

Then the chances that we will remain in Afghanistan PERMANTLY are friggin HUGE.
Not only does that have huge rammifications for the war, military companies, aerospace, fort town economies, Big Oil use, but also drilling, testing, surveying, mining, shipping, heavy machinery, infastructure to support all that ect... and investment in all those related companies.
