that I bought when I was leaving Europe (military). I initially thought about getting a Porsche, but after driving one that was in my price range, I just couldn't get over how crappy the guage layout was, and how cheap the seats felt. Then I compared prices with Americas best, and was sold on the corvette.
Welcome. First off thanks for your service. Second sorry about your bad luck in the parking lot people are idiots, i guess you found that out. Also really glad you chose the vette over the porsche, though porsche's are nice they lack the soul of the vette.
You refer to yourself as the FNG, well join the club as i am kinda new here myself. One thing about DC is people are very helpful and generally dont tell you to "use the search function" when you ask a question that has been asked before. I have found that at other places, and im not knocking anywhere else, but its nice when new people come aboard and share a new perspective even if its on a much asked question like "which exhaust" or "what intake" etc.
Plus this place has its own weekly series vette dogs, now that is F'n cool.
